"ROSA DI GENOVA®" IS BORN AT EUROFLORA 2022.

The Garden Club of Genoa, a cultural association that has been active since 1963 in promoting the knowledge and care of gardens, nature and the environment, has thought to offer a special tribute to the city of Genoa on the occasion of the 12th edition of Euroflora. For this purpose, it asked to Nirp International, a worldwide leading company in the field of research, breeding and selection of new rose varieties, to create a rose to be dedicated to Genoa.

Nirp selected a large-flowered bush rose, white and red, as the colours of the flag and of the city of Genoa.

This new rose, beautiful, resistant and re-blooming will be called "Rosa di Genova®" and will become a bright symbol of the Ligurian city in gardens and parks all over the world.

The exceptional godfather for the christening of the rose will be the Mayor of Genoa, Marco Bucci, together with the godmother Ilaria Doria, President of Genoa Garden Club.

The rose's christening ceremony will take place at the "Roseto di Nervi", where a number of ''Rosa di Genova'' plants will be donated by Nirp and will be planted to enrich the Rose Garden prestigious collection.

ROSA DI GENOVA® variety description

Large-flowered bush rose. The elegantly shaped, 35/40-petalled bud opens to reveal a fabulous creamy white rose with a red border. Dark green, disease resistant foliage. Regular and very compact plant. Very good disease resistance. This rose blooms from spring until frost. Height: 60/70 cm.

USE: to be planted alone or in groups, in flowerbeds or borders. Compact habit, ideal for flower pots.
